Harmony in Clay: The Elegance and Refinement of Song Ceramics

In conjunction with the exhibition Harmony in Clay, Ms. Rosemary Scott (UK), renowned scholar, curator and author presented an insightful lecture on Song Ceramics at Morris Museum on March 24, 2012. Ms. Scott is the former Head of the new Museums Department at SOAS University of London, responsible for both the Percival David Foundation and the new Brunei Gallary.

We are specially honored that Ms. Scott, in her lecture, "Artistic Refinement and Technological Innovation: Chinese Ceramics of the 10th - 14th Centuries", highlighted and praised objects from the Jiyuanshanfang Collection by comparing them visually to those of the Percival David Foundation.

The exhibition Harmony in Clay was selected as Art Critic's Choice by Mr. Dan Bischoff in 2012 Spring Arts Preview of The Star-Ledger, the largest circulated newspaper in the State of New Jersey.

The art critic Mr. Bischoff published his article titled "Remnants of a Dynasty" on March 11, 2012's Sunday Star-Ledger, featuring Song Ceramics, the Jiyuanshanfang Collection and its exhibition at the Morris Museum. The article took a full page of the newspaper's art section.
